The steel structure station project located in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines, was designed and manufactured by Lanjing Steel Structure, aiming to construct a municipal public transport project with high quality, accurate dimension and decorative features.
The project consists of multiple stations, which are designed, fabricated and installed on-site in phases. With a total construction area of 520 square meters and a building height of 3.5 meters, this project is the first phase of the overall project. It’s core challenges include rapid processing and delivery, efficient and accurate on-site installation, an excellent appearance after installation, and a column-free and enclosure-material-free design on both sides of the structure. The project was successfully completed in 2 months and became a municipal and landmark building in the area.
I. Core Challenges and Innovative Solutions
Complex Shape and Structural realization:The main body of the building is designed as a single-column double-rafter structure with a standard RAL color . The surrounding area of the roof adopts a bull nose design and flashing design, making the overall design beautiful and practical. It took only 25 days from design confirmation to fabrication and delivery for the project. All components are prefabricated and connected using high-strength and ordinary bolts, and the on-site installation was fully completed in 10 days. This fully demonstrates the professionalism of steel structure design and the accurate fabrication, mostly improved the efficiency of on-site construction.
1.High-performance Materials and Durability Assurance:The main structure is made of Q355B grade high-strength low-alloy steel, with 3-layer epoxy zinc-rich paint. The roof Great Wall panels used aluminum-zinc coated steel sheets + fluorocarbon paint, ensuring stable performance for 10-15 years in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.
2.Digital Construction and Accuracy Control:The project fully applied CAD design software, Tekla (steel structure building design modeling technology) and full-process construction simulation analysis. Through digital modeling, potential component collision problems were resolved in advance.
3.Fast and efficient assembly and eco-friendly Construction:More than 95% of the steel components were prefabricated in the factory, modular assembly and high-strength bolt connection were adopted on-site. This reduced 80% on-site welding work , significantly lowering construction noise, dust pollution and material waste.
